Wherever you choose to dine, Matangi's talented chef and kitchen staff will tempt your taste buds with an array of fresh fish and seafood caught by local fishermen, imported meats, salads, locally
grown vegetables, tropical fruit from surrounding gardens, freshly baked breads and sumptuous desserts.
The traditional Fijian Lali drum announces the meal service (just in case you are too relaxed or too busy to notice). Soon you will become accustomed to the timing of your meals at the resort not by your watch, but to the beat of a drum.
Matangi's cuisine is largely influenced by tropical surroundings, Fijian heritage and the unique flavours of the
South Pacific.
Meals are served in the magnificent "Vale-Ni-Kana" Dining Room located only metres from a pristine white sand beach. While you dine, enjoy 270-degree views of the ocean and Matangi's exquisitely landscaped
tropical gardens.
Daily
menus are planned using the finest and freshest ingredients available. Special dietary needs are happily arranged.
A large selection of world-class Australian and New Zealand wines and French
Champagnes are available to complement your meals. Tropical inspired cocktails, rums, beer and an extensive
selection of fine spirits from around the world are also available.
Meals All Inclusive
Matangi Island Resort is an all-inclusive resort of all of your meals which are included in the tariff, and Matangi ensures that you never go hungry.
As there is no other restaurant or cooking facility on the island, Matangi has an all inclusive meal/accommodation plan which provides 3 daily meals along with some snacks.
Dining hours:
Breakfast 7:00 am - 9:00 am
Lunch 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Dinner 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Complimentary tea, coffee and fresh baked cookies are available at all times in the Vale-Ni-Kana Dining Room. In
keeping with Matangi Island tradition, freshly baked cakes and savouries are available for afternoon tea.
Breakfast and Lunch
On your all-inclusive resort meal plan in the mornings, enjoy a leisurely breakfast to start your day. Select from a variety of fresh fruits, fresh fruit juices, breads, cereals, and of course, coffee and tea.
Once seated, we will take your order for a fully cooked breakfast. Choose from eggs prepared any way you wish, breakfast meats, pancakes, and more.
For lunch at Matangi Resort, you will enjoy anything from fresh salads, to hearty sandwiches, wonderful pizzas, and more.
Dinners at Matangi
As the Sun sets on the Western horizon, light snacks are served at Matangi's bar, perfect accompaniments for sampling tropical island cocktails, Fiji beers, Fiji rums and selection of Australian and New Zealand fine wines and French
Champagnes.
Your three course dinner usually offers several choices. Your lunch and dinner orders will be taken from a daily menu provided after your breakfast service and provides an
array of meals including vegetarian options.
Buffet meals are occasionally served for lunches and dinners and may include a Fijian night, curry night, a pizza lunch, or a sandwich and salad lunch bar.
Matangi alternates buffet service with table service and offers a choice of entrees at those meals.

Going to Horseshoe Bay for a day of secluded romantic beach combing and swimming? The staff will pack a picnic lunch, snacks and drinks to take along.
Matangi will arrange romantic dinners and lunches for two, candlelit dinners on the beach for honeymooners, a feast for a wedding and more.
