Matangi Island Resort's goal is to provide you with a relaxing tropical getaway in our most unique of Fiji resorts. You are welcomed to be as active or as private as you wish - this is your vacation.

Following are some of the details and items we provide to make your stay at Matangi Island a memorable one.

Laundry: Who wants to deal with dirty clothing? Just drop your laundry in the hamper beside the bed and it will be returned to you, clean and folded, at no extra charge. There is nothing better than returning home with clean clothes.

Electricity: Matangi is a luxury Fiji hotel and offers 24 hour electricity (except when the generator is being serviced), with 240V electrical outlets (3 prong) located throughout the bures. If you are visiting from the US, you will need a power converter and an adaptor (same adaptors as Australia).

Boutique: For those people who absolutely have to shop! Our Fiji Islands boutique stocks resort wear, film, batteries, post cards, stamps, South Pacific handicrafts, toiletries, and general, but limited pharmaceutical products.

Fax/Telephone/Email: There is a card phone at the Matangi Resort office, which is available for your use 24 hours a day. Matangi Island Resort staff will be glad to assist with international dialing codes and the purchase of telephone cards. Fax and email service is available at a nominal expense.

Mail Service: There is an "almost daily" mail service from the office, where a box is provided to receive guests' outgoing mail.

Book Exchange: A book exchange is available at the boutique. Feel free to borrow a book, as well as share a book with your fellow guests.

Flight Confirmations: The Matangi staff will reconfirm all domestic Fiji departures for you. International departures do not require confirmation.

Day Care: To those families paying for a family bure, day care is provided for children at no extra charge. Please inform the office in advance should you require day care for your children.

Massage: Massage is available with a Fijian touch by Matangi's experienced masseuse. Just schedule an appointment. There is a small charge for a massage, and we ask that you pay in Fijian cash directly to the masseuse.

Special Occasions: Matangi's staff loves special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries and weddings. Advise us of any special occasions during your stay and let us organize a fitting celebration.

Tipping/Gratuities: Tipping is discouraged in Fiji. Matangi has a staff Christmas Fund, which is distributed amongst all staff members at Christmas and New Year time. You may contribute to this fund if you wish. Inquire at the office upon your check out.

Credit Cards and Payments: Matangi Island Resort accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club, travelers' checks and even cash. There are no monetary transactions during your holiday at Matangi (except for massage). All purchases and extras will be added to your account and settled upon your departure.
