Matangi Island Resort - Central Area Offerings
Ten of Matangi Island’s 240-acres is dedicated to the Matangi Private Island Resort.
The area surrounding the resort has been landscaped around the existing large trees using exotic and
colorful plants to attract tropical birds including the orange dove and parakeet.
The rest of the island is lush tropical jungle with a high
volcanic rim enclosing a gorgeous Horseshoe Bay fringed by a secluded white sand beach.
There is a central resort area, where Matangi's dining bure, activities center, pool and overwater deck / lounge are nestled within the tropical foliage.
Matangi Island Resort - Fiji Islands features only fourteen intimate beachfront bures, tucked between the cliffs of this beautiful South Pacific island and the aquamarine waters of Fiji's Tasman Straits.
From each bure, it is a short walk to the beach, dining or activities center, but far enough from each other to provide the privacy you desire.

Matangi Island Main Bure & Pool
Added in 2007, only yards away from the pristine beach,
this stunning setting features 270-degree views of the ocean and the exquisitely landscaped tropical gardens that complete your dining experience.
All meals are served in the new magnificent "Vale-Ni-Kana" Dining Room inside the main bure.
In this bure are two daybeds for that perfect afternoon tropical nap.
Or, sit with a beer in the lounge chairs
or tables underneath the trees and check your email on the wireless internet service that is available at Matangi! There is no more beautiful setting then that for keeping in touch with the world if you must!
The pool connected to the dining bure is fresh water. Swim in the warm South Pacific ocean or take a quick dip in the
pool after having a drink provided by the wonderful Matangi bartender!
In the evening you can belly up to the new bar to enjoy
on one of Matangi's featured Cocktail of the Night or have a fresh tropical fruit smoothie. During cocktail hour enjoy appetizers that range from Taro chips and dip
to Samosas or fresh fish with tropical sauces.
Overwater Deck & Bar
Located on the water away from the dining bure is the seaside Overwater Bure.
Matangi's Overwater Bure houses a dining room, bar and multi-media room. Enjoy both
indoor and outdoor dining on the overwater deck cooled by sea breezes and entertained by the lovely views across to Qamea and Taveuni islands.
The Overwater Bure has a host of uses; watching the sunset with a drink at night on the deck; romantic dinners;
playing games in the indoor lounge; watching movies in the air-conditioned Multi Media room that is furnished with large sofas and comfy pillows!
In the Multi Media room, you can also hook up your video to watch the events you recorded to take home as memories! If you are a diver you can review your photos and video here also!
During the day, lounge at the Bar, or sunbathe on the Deck. At night, the Bar is the gathering place to enjoy a sunset cocktail with fellow guests, meet your hosts, the Douglas family, and to enjoy the serenading and impromptu guitar sessions of the local Fijian staff.
Matangi Resort's Bar offers a full range of beverages both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Local and imported beers are available, as are a fine selection
of imported wines and champagnes. Enjoy exotic cocktails, made from local Fijian rum and fresh tropical fruits. Non-alcoholic
drinks including fruit cocktails, FIJI bottled water and sodas are also available. The Bar is open throughout the day and in the
evenings.
